Salesforce Expands in Saudi Arabia with $500M AI Push
November 18, 2025 · 2 min read
Salesforce has taken significant steps to deepen its presence in Saudi Arabia, establishing a regional headquarters in Riyadh and operationalizing a $500 million investment announced earlier this year. The move comes as part of the company's long-term commitment to support Saudi Arabia's digital transformation under Vision 2030, the kingdom's ambitious economic diversification plan.
The announcement was made during Salesforce's first-ever Innovation Day in Riyadh, where regional organizations including Red Sea Global, Almosafer, Cenomi, and SRMG showcased their digital transformation stories. The event highlighted rapid adoption of AI and automation technologies across the kingdom, positioning Saudi Arabia as one of the world's fastest-moving digital economies.
Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, emphasized the strategic importance of the Saudi market. "Saudi Arabia is becoming one of the world's most dynamic digital economies, and we are proud to deepen our commitment to the Kingdom," Benioff stated. "With our $500 million investment, we're helping fuel a new wave of innovation across the region."
The expansion includes establishing a new legal entity in Saudi Arabia and opening a Riyadh office, which will help Salesforce align with national requirements for digital operations and data governance. Mohammed Al-Khotani, SVP GM of Salesforce Middle East, noted that Saudi Arabia presents a unique environment for building what the company calls "Agentic Enterprises"—organizations where humans and AI collaborate to deliver enhanced services.
A key component of Salesforce's commitment involves upskilling 30,000 Saudi citizens in AI technologies, with particular focus on increasing women's workforce participation. The company has launched a partnership with Princess Nourah University, one of the world's largest universities for women, to help build Saudi Arabia's next generation of female digital leaders.
The training initiative leverages Salesforce's Trailhead platform, a free online learning tool, along with tailored local programs. The first round of training in September saw over 450 women achieve "Agentblazer" status on the Salesforce platform, demonstrating early progress toward the company's workforce development goals.
This expansion follows broader industry trends of major tech companies increasing their Middle East presence as regional governments push digital transformation agendas. Salesforce's move positions it to capitalize on Saudi Arabia's growing demand for cloud services and AI solutions while supporting the kingdom's economic diversification efforts.
The establishment of a regional headquarters and expanded training programs represent Salesforce's most substantial commitment to the Middle East market to date, signaling the region's growing importance in global technology adoption and innovation.
